Friends of Omaha Mom Prom,
This year Omaha Mom Prom is excited to announce our partnership alongside Parent Training and Information to raise funds for their mission to provide meaningful social and vocational skills learning opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities and special healthcare needs. PTI Nebraska (Parent Training and Information) is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting Nebraska families of children and young adults with disabilities. They serve as a trusted partner to parents, guardians, caregivers, and youth by providing free training, one-on-one assistance, and resources to help them navigate special education and disability-related services.
Their mission is to empower families to become strong advocates and active participants in their child’s education. Through training opportunities, individualized support and information, and important community connections, PTI Nebraska helps families understand their rights and responsibilities, strengthen their advocacy skills, work collaboratively with educators, and access the tools and knowledge needed to help their children succeed in school and life.
Funds raised will support the growing need for youth to build essential vocational and self-advocacy skills to help them succeed both in school and in life after high school. Through these learning sessions, PTI Nebraska will empower children and young adults to better understand their strengths, interests, and support needs, while helping to build up their confidence and self-advocacy skills. For youth/young adults who are at or nearing transition age (14+), we will offer opportunities to explore career paths and practice job skills. These social and vocational skills learning sessions will help expand students’ learning experiences and opportunities!
Together, Omaha Mom Prom and PTI Nebraska are opening doors to new possibilities for children and young adults with disabilities and special healthcare needs!
So ,what is Omaha Mom Prom? It is an event open to women 21 and up who come together to raise money for a nonprofit in the community. It originally started as a fundraiser for a family, but has grown to help organizations like KidsCan Community, Nebraska Red Dawgs and more. Empowered women making a difference in their community while having a night out with friends — it is as amazing as it sounds!
We are looking for wonderful businesses for sponsorships or donations to help support our event to benefit PTI Nebraska. This comes with exposure to a 400-woman event, made up of mostly moms, with the added benefit of helping a nonprofit in our community!
