The Event

Omaha Mom Prom is so excited to celebrate our 5th birthday with 400 of our closest, most wonderful supporters! The name ‘Mom Prom’ is catchy, yet it is for all women 21 and older! It is an event that showcases the wonderful things women can achieve when working together, dancing, having fun, and raising money for a great cause! All proceeds go directly to Band of the Strong to raise funds for their mission, which is to provide programming to help kids process through the most challenging parts of their lives by telling their stories and defining their community through art.

It is a Prom so have fun with a girls’ night out! Dress up, dress 80’s, dress wedding, or rock that bridesmaid dress you paid $200 on. Be ready to move and groove as the night goes on!

Band of the Strong

The Non-Profit we are raising money for this year is Band of the Strong. Their mission is to provide programming to help kids process through the most challenging parts of their lives by telling their stories and defining their community through art.

Why Band of the Strong?

When the OMP board got together to pick a charity partner for 2024, we looked at what impact can be made long-term. One common theme was healing so when we read about Band of the Strong, we were moved by their goal of providing tools and opportunities to help kids and families. With the use of events, music, and art, they help children to reframe their thoughts and emotions about trauma to become the hero in their own stories. “In order to transform hurt into healing, we use the connection and introduction of community involvement with people who are working through similar life challenges”.
