About Omaha Mom Prom

We are women focused on empowering women, having fun and helping others.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower women in a fun, unique way and give back to the community at the same time. Never underestimate the power of a woman.

Our Story

Mom Prom got its start in Michigan in 2006 and made its way to Omaha for the first time in 2011. It’s a great way for ladies to get dressed up, dance, have fun and help support local nonprofits.

I’m a mama to four grown-up amazing humans and a couple of them even gave me my best friends (grand babies).  Realizing that failures are in fact learning opportunities to do better,  I’ve always lived my life with one major goal – to BE GOOD & DO GOOD. I like to think of myself as an EXTREME advocate for marginalized populations.
I’m not a huge fan of jumping through hoops to get people what they need… if I see or hear of a need, I’ll do my best to fill that – NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
Together, with my son that has developmental disabilities, we own Pause Coffee Shop – “pouring love and acceptance to all”.  I just want everyone to feel loved.  Period.
Abbey

Abbey

Board Member

Abbey is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan but has lived in the Omaha area for 12 years. She is the mom of a beautiful four-year-old boy named Harrison and works as a fundraising and marketing manager.

Abbey always wanted the chance to work in non-profits to be able to give back to her community. The opportunity has been a welcome one and as she dove into her career she got more and more involved with volunteering for numerous organizations in the area.

She knew from the moment she met Shonda that she wanted to be part of her important work. When the chance came to apply to be on the board of OMP, it was a no brainer. She looks forward to growing community and making a difference.
